This year, McKinley High is going in a new direction.
This is because of the newly-revived glee club “New Directions”, and with its promising batch of talents comes a tangled bunch of drama, gossip, and drama.
New Directions lead female Rachel Berry is determined to be a star -- she has the looks, the talent, the heart to shine….but the satisfaction of having what she wants is different with not having who she wants. Sure Finn’s cute and adorable, but he’s committed to a pregnant girlfriend, so she’s settled with being friends. But when Finn and Quinn start to have a rocky relationship, and a secret is revealed….will Rachel finally step in and let caged feelings pour out?
Finn Hudson may seem like he has it all -- he’s the quarterback in the football team, the male star in New Directions, and is boyfriend to the gorgeous cheerleader Quinn. Only, he’s met the feisty and talented Rachel Berry, and is soon torn between the two. But then Quinn gets pregnant, and Finn assumes the responsibility of devoted soon-to-be teenage dad, striving to earn a music or football scholarship to be able to provide for the baby. However, Quinn decides to give the baby up, and begins to act differently around Finn. Then, Finn learns a huge secret -- a secret about Quinn’s pregnancy. Will this ruin their relationship and make Finn run into the arms of Rachel?
Quinn Fabray -- popular girl, hot cheerleader. It helps more that she is longtime girlfriend to football star Finn, and president of the Celibacy Club. Despite being a bitch more specifically to Rachel, it’s obvious that she loves Finn and will not let anyone snatch him from her. But then, she’s pregnant. And she says Finn is the father. However she’s keeping a secret--something that could ruin her relationship with Finn and her image. With Puck and all the pressure eating at her, will the cat get out of the bag?
Puck is your typical macho guy -- best friend to Finn, a football stud, bully to weak people, and a serial dater (lately, of moms). But then, one night--one unexpected night with his best friend’s girlfriend changes everything. He soon develops feelings for Quinn, and learns that beneath his tough exterior lies a soft heart begging to be loved. While having his love unrequited, Puck soon enters a love web as Kurt Hummel, Glee’s resident beloved gay soon has a crush on him, resulting in Mercedes, who despite being Kurt’s BFF hasn’t moved on from Kurt’s coming out, acting like a total bitch to Puck. Then Santana, Puck’s ex and Quinn’s backstabbing best friend finds out about his secret and threatens to blackmail him, while Brittany's along for the ride. How will he handle this very complicated love affair?
Mercedes Jones -- your diva-licious singing fashionista. She is fantastic and she knows it. She wants to be the next Beyonce or Jennifer Hudson, and she believes that Glee can help her achieve that. But then things don’t go her way -- she falls in love with her best friend who turns out to be gay and crushing on arrogant football player Puck, and she feels like her talents aren’t being appreciated as much because of Rachel always being in the spotlight. Tired of being in the shadow and wanting to be in the limelight, and hurting over Kurt liking Puck, will this persuade her to quit New Directions and seek out her own path?
Drama with other glee members ensue-- Artie “The Wheelchair Kid” Abrams develops feelings for his stuttering friend Tina Cohen-Chang, completely unaware that she reciprocates the feelings despite his condition. And who can forget Mr. Will Schuester? The New Directions mentor has problems of his own, both at work and at home. He feels completely neglected by his wife Terri, who has become impossibly demanding and conceited with herself and their supposedly unborn baby. But incredibly OCD yet well-mannered McKinley High counselor Emma Pillsbury steps into the picture as supportive friend, though shares a secret unrequited love for him. And work does not make it any less easier as he still struggles to find ways to earn more money for his soon-to-be child yet keep New Directions alive and kicking, while Cheerios coach Sue Sylvester tries to ruin the glee club.
New Directions -- new members, new dreams. They are one step closer and closer to the Sectionals, and they think they’ve got it in the bag. But then Sue Sylvester is in the way. The highly competitive coach of the Cheerios, she will stop at nothing to relinquish Glee once and for all, which she believes is threatening the hierarchy and very existence of the cheerleading squad. When she is named co-head of New Directions, she tricks them into believing that she is on the club’s side now, when she is secretly giving tips to their opponents about their performances, and in return gives false hopes and tips to New Directions, misleadingly boosting their self-esteem and showing complacency in their performances. Will New Directions survive and make it to the regionals?
Be part of the excitement. It’s all here at GLEE.
