Character's Full Name: Erin Rebecca Courcy
Character's Nickname: Erin? Haha, whatever people choose to call her.
Age: 17
Description/History:
Personality: As a child Erin’s personality was a pleasant one, always seeming to bring joy to those around her. A bright smile always on her round, childish face a giggle escaping her lips as she and her father romped around her back yard or swam around in their pool. But as everyone knows, things change. Children grow, people leave, and accidents happen. As she grew, though, Erin’s life began to slowly come crashing down. With the death of her father her disposition changed drastically. Going from an upbeat and jovial child to a young woman whose whole world was taken from her.
As she has grown, and escaped from her old hometown to Lima, her personality has started to revert back to the way as she was as a child. She can come off as a quiet individual when you first meet her (being that she takes first impressions very seriously) if she thinks that you are a good, trustworthy person she will immediately open up. On the inside she longs for someone to care for and be cared about in return. Although not many people know, Erin is a lesbian. Not many people know, because she doesn't feel the need to tell anyone. If it were to come up, she would be honest, but not many people question her about it very often. She is hesitant to commit to a relationship, fearing they may be taken away from her like her father was. But if someone does manage to look past her sometimes sardonic and sarcastic attitude and break through the wall she has made around her heart they will have a friend for life.
If there is one thing that is true for Erin is music is her life. Her father was a musician and she feels that her music the one thing that keeps her close to her father’s memory, be it singing, playing the piano or other band instrument, or her personal favorite, the guitar. Erin is a completely focused individual when it comes to the things that matter most to her in life, such as her music, athletics, and schoolwork. Her personality can sometimes come off as spacey and goofy but once she is in the pool or on the field there is no pulling her focus away.
History: Matthew Courcy was a ruggedly handsome NYPD police officer. His life was dedicated to protecting and defending the innocent of New York and it was this duty that eventually led him to Angela Wall, a fragile woman of domestic violence. After his involvement in her case they started to see each other more and more before finally marrying.
Two years into their marriage the happy couple finally succeeded in what they both wanted and dreamed of children. Angela was pregnant with a baby girl. After the birth, the Courcys decided that to focus all their love on Erin and leave her as an only child.
She was raised in New York, New York. As a child Erin was a pleasant one, always seeming to bring joy to her parents. A bright smile was always present. Her and her father could always be found in their tiny apartment taking part in their favorite activity – making music. Erin’s love of music was started at a young age and she learned to play both the guitar and the piano at a very young age, eventually breaking into the brass world. She also started athletics as a child and continued to progress into a better athlete and musician.
At the age of twelve, Erin Courcy’s life slowly began to disintegrate before her very eyes starting with the death of her father. He was shot and killed by a man who he stopped during a traffic stop because of a busted headlight. The man had a warrant out for his arrest and he panicked, pulled a gun, and shot Matthew Courcy. This event devastated Erin and changed her forever, going from an upbeat and jovial child to a young woman whose whole world was taken from her.
After the untimely and tragic death of her husband, Rebecca moved herself and Erin to her parents house in southwestern Pennsylvania where she met Alexander Edelbraugh, an accomplished business man, and they quickly married and moved to Findlay, Ohio in order to be at the head quarters of the company he worked for, Cooper Tire and Rubber Company. Erin believed her mother married for the money, and this caused many quarrels between the teen and her mother. The woman cared very little of what was happening with her daughter. This lack of concern towards Erin did not help the troubled teen, and the downward spiral that had become her life continued.
At the age of fifteen she returned home one night, the smell of alcohol on her breath and smoke on her clothes. Tired of his stepdaughter’s actions Alex took action. At first all the man did was shout down at her, spewing insult after insult out of his mouth. Erin could have cared less and retaliated with words just as sharp, when the verbal argument became too much, Erin was the first to become physical. It was something she instantly regretted.
Alexander never liked Erin and had longed for a way to get rid of her. She was immediately shipped off to relatives of his in Lima, in order for her to be out of the house but close enough to keep an eye on. The fight jarred Erin back into reality and instead of taking out her anger and depression with smoking and alcohol she started focusing more on her music and her athletics, excelling further than she had ever gone.
Once arriving in Lima, she made the best of the situation, especially with being away from her stepfather. She joined the band and several sports teams. She manages her time well and while she is an average athlete, she is a natural and excels in her music.
Relationship with any of the canon characters (if there's any):None really. Acquaintances? Friends? Haha.
Sample RP: The sky was stained an orange that was slowly fading to a darker, nearly bloody red, the dusky kind of color that's most often seen just before the last sliver of sunlight falls behind the horizon. A slight breeze ruffled her chocolate locks as well as the nearby bushes. She turned her head towards the sound, unsure of the origin at first. Only being met with the sight of stained brown leaves holding desperately on to the skeletal branches which had lost most of its bushiness from the frost that had swept through the area a few nights before. Sighing she leaned back against the bench eyes watching the last of the sun sneaking below the horizon.
Slender fingers smoothed over the worn wood of the instrument in her hands, a habit she had formed when holding said item. A sigh escaped her lips as jade eyes glanced over the surface that she knew almost as well as the back of her hand. The guitar had been her father’s and she had been given it upon his death. It was an important piece of her memory of him and always made her feel better when she was having a hard time with life in general. A faint smile formed on her lips as she started to strum, the deep, rich sound calming her nerves and putting her at ease, as it always did.
Her music came to a stop, however, as a low rumble reverberated in her chest and caused her to shudder, feeling the temperature start to cool. Pushing up the sleeve to her jacket, she checked her watch and, upon seeing that it was nearly seven, decided that it would be time to head “home”, the coming storm making its presence known in the distant sky.
