Character's Full Name: Regan Dianna Holbrook
Character's Nickname: Reggie, Sweets, Bubbly
Age: 16
Description/History: Regan is just your typical 16 year old girl. She has a very outgoing personality which can get her into trouble if she’s not careful. She tries to see the good in everybody and despite her upbringing, despises cheerleading. She told her father she quit the team but in reality she was kicked off for being too nice to people. She is quite easy to get along with and has no preference when it comes to picking her friends. As long as you are nice to her, she’ll be nice to you. She has only been in one fight in her life and it was against a team member.
She is not without faults though. She is very gullible and her “nice to everyone” routine is often seen as snobbery. People think she is a stuck up girl who is trying too hard to be liked. She is very opinionated and strong-willed.
Regan was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 20th, 1994 to Lachelle and Zander Holbrook. Her mom was a big fan of Ronald Reagan so she decided to name her daughter after him. She wouldn’t realize until after the birth certificate was signed, however, that it was in fact, misspelled. Her cheerleading days began at the age of 6 when her father, Zander, took her to work with him. He was the manager of the local country club where all the celebrated golfers came to practice. She started cheering for the guys around the course and when her father noticed the potential she could have, signed her up for the Pee-Wee Cheerleaders at her school.
Her elementary school days were spent at the gym where her father took over as her coach and made her practice for 3 hours every night after school. Her mother tried to get her more involved in other extracurricular activities but her dad ended up shooting that down. “You are a cheerleader, nothing more.” He would remind her. She resented him for that and would often sneak off at night to go visit her friend, Kelly, who had been teaching her how to play the saxophone.
When she was 14, she was attempting a hurkey when she fell and broke her leg. After that, she gave up cheerleading for a year and joined the jazz band just until her healing was over. After spending time with the band, she realized that she really hated cheering and had only done it for her father’s approval and even that hadn’t been enough to get him to stay. She decided then and there to quit living a lie and start doing something fun. In the summer of her sophomore year, her parents split up and she was sent to live with her grandmother in Lima, Ohio. With her grandma’s approval, she threw down her pom-poms and grabbed a saxophone and has never looked back.

“Grandma, I’m off to school! Wish me luck!” She screamed, as she slammed the front door shut and hopped into her 1988 Buick LeSabre. Ok, so it wasn’t a Porsche or Lamborghini like the “cool” kids were driving but it was reliable. Her grandmother had given it to her for her birthday. She was about to pull out of the driveway when she noticed that her saxophone was not with her. Great, she thought just as the front door opened.
“Forgetting something?” Her grandma asked, holding out the thick black case for her.
“What would I do without you?” She chuckled and went back into the house. If this was a sign of things to come, maybe she should call in sick.
She arrived at McKinley just as the first bell rang to signal the start of homeroom. “Hah! Not late after all!” She said, a little too loudly, judging by the stares she received. She couldn’t believe that summer was over. It seemed like just yesterday she was headed off to Jazz Camp with Jenn and Luke and now, here she was, back at McKinley, where popularity is the game and Glee Club is lame! Ah yes, the social outcasts of the entire school. Never mind the fact that they were actually champions. Sure they didn’t win the “big one” but neither had the football team. So when you looked at it, who were the losers? Oh right, still Glee Club. She laughed to herself as she headed toward her class, narrowly missing the red, purple, and blue slush that was currently littering the floor. Ah yes, the much talked about slushies! Some things never change, she thought as she opened the door to Mr. Schuester’s room.
